 Boat fishing is available from a number of centres along the coastline, and there are licensed charter boats available for hire with experienced and knowledgeable skippers. Species available include mackerel, pollack, cod, whiting, conger eel, wrasse, John Dory, gurnard, ray, skate, dogfish and bull huss, tope and shark. Shore angling for mackerel is very popular during the mid and late summer months when large numbers, including many children, experience their first angling catch of numerous mackerel or pollock thrashing after the small sprat or sand eels, driving them onto rocks in a frenzy. |
